Total amount of transactions via ArCa payment system in august drop by almost 10 percent to 57.9 billion drams

The total amount of transactions made through Armenian Card (ArCA) payment system in 2012 August dropped by almost 10 percent from July to 57.9 billion drams, the company told ARKA in a press release.

The total amount of transactions made through Armenian Card (ArCA) payment system in 2012 August dropped by almost 10 percent from July to 57.9 billion drams, the company told ARKA in a press release. It said overall more than 1.2 billion transactions were made, by 8.6 percent less from 2012 July.
Plastic cards issued by ArCa members, including Mastercards and Visa cards, were used to make 1,134,422 transactions worth 53.3 billion drams, a 10 percent decline from the previous month. Visa cards issued by non-members were used to make about 49,423 transactions worth 2.8 billion drams, a 3.2 percent rise over the previous month, while MasterCards were used to make 25,444 transactions worth 1.8 billion drams, a 3.8 percent growth.
The average transactions amount was 48,000 drams, the amount of a cash transaction was about 52,000 drams and a non-cash transaction was 29,300 drams.
Armenian Card CJSC was established on March 16, 2000 as a united national payment system.
Today 19 of Armenia’s 21 commercial banks participate in ArCa payment system. The company is a full member of MasterCard Europe international payment system. It also processes VISA and American Express (Third Party Processor) cards. ($1 – 408.22 drams). -0-
