VTB bank (Armenia) resumes work after attack

A branch of Russian-owned VTB Bank (Armenia) in Etchmiadzin, a town 20 km off the capital Yerevan, said it has resumed work after an incident earlier today.

YEREVAN, March 11. / ARKA /. A branch of Russian-owned VTB Bank (Armenia) in Etchmiadzin, a town 20 km off the capital Yerevan, said it has resumed work after an incident earlier today.
According to a bank's press release, a man burst into the bank's branch and demanded money from employees. Security officers managed to detain him. No one was injured and the branch has resumed work, VTB Bank (Armenia) said.
It said the local police have opened a criminal case. According to media reports, the assailant is a resident of Etchmiadzin, born in 1977. The man used a toy gun to scare the staff.
VTB Bank (Armenia) is owned fully by Russian VTB Bank. It runs 67 branches in Armenia, more than any other local bank.-0-
