Yerevan Council of Elders lowers local duties on sale of liquid fuel and compressed gas

The Council of Elders of Yerevan has approved today a draft decision developed at the initiative of the mayor that sets a string of benefits for those economic entities whose tax turnover in 2018 did not exceed 115 million drams.

YEREVAN, January 15. /ARKA/. The Council of Elders of Yerevan has approved today a draft decision developed at the initiative of the mayor that sets a string of benefits for those economic entities whose tax turnover in 2018 did not exceed 115 million drams. 

According to one of the proposed benefits, the local duty for the permission to sell liquid fuel and compressed natural gas in Yerevan is to be cut by more than 58%. Local duties for trade outlets for obtaining work permits after 24:00 will decrease by 72.92% and for catering and entertainment facilities by 70%.

Also benefits are proposed for those entrepreneurs who are registered with the Agency of the State Register of Legal Entities since January 1, 2019.

Earlier, on December 25, 2018 the Council of Elders voted to raise the local duty on the construction of buildings and structures by 40% - by 6,000 drams for structures up to 20 square meters and by 10,000 drams for structures 20 and more square meters. In 2018, these duties were respectively 15 thousand and 25 thousand drams.

Local duty on the sale of liquid fuels, compressed natural or liquefied petroleum gas were raised by 250 thousand drams to 600 thousand drams (an increase of 71.43%). 

Local duties for administrative, commercial, public facilities, entertainment and gambling, as well as casinos, bathhouses and saunas operating after midnight were raised also. In particular, duties on commercial facilities by 37% or 32.5 thousand drams, on catering and entertainment facilities - by 75 thousand drams or 48%, and on baths and saunas - by 525 thousand drams or 60%. Yerevan mayor Hayk Marutyan argued  the changes would  not be felt as a whole. -0-
