Yerevan, Tbilisi ready to encourage new joint businesses and experience exchange in agriculture

Armenian Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan discussed with his Georgian counterpart Otar Danelia cooperation development prospects on Wednesday as part of his visit to Georgia, the press office reports.

YEREVAN, August 19. /ARKA/. Armenian Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan discussed with his Georgian counterpart Otar Danelia cooperation development prospects on Wednesday as part of his visit to Georgia, the press office reports.
Establishment of new joint companies was among the discussed issues.
The agriculture ministers stressed the necessity of building up trade between the two countries and the importance of effective usage of the existing potential.
They said that fish-breeding farms should use a chance of experience exchange under ENPARD, a program aimed at stable and comprehensive development of agriculture sector and rural communities.
Speaking at a news conference after his meeting with Danelia, Karapetyan pointed out the necessity of cooperation in stimulating rural cooperation and introduction and insurance system.
The Armenian agriculture minister added that Armenia's experience in applying certain technologies in growing table grapes and in developing greenhouse farming may be useful to Georgia.
Special emphasis was put on exchange of visits between officials and experts.
The ministers, stressing the importance of promotion of joint entrepreneurship, singled out Ikhtios fish-breeding farm as an example of successful joint investments of Armenian and Georgian businessmen.
Karapetyan visited Georgia's food safety agency on the same day and a scientific center.
The Armenian minister, accompanied by Danelia, also toured Kindzmarauli Marani wine vaults. -----0----
