In January-April 2025, Armenia revealed 84 billion drams of "shadow" turnover, 146% growth compared to the same period in 2024, said Eduard Hakobyan, head of the State Revenue Committee.

YEREVAN, May 22. /ARKA/. In January-April 2025, Armenia revealed 84 billion drams of "shadow" turnover, 146% growth compared to the same period in 2024, said Eduard Hakobyan, head of the State Revenue Committee.
"If we calculate the potential taxes on this activity, they will amount to 39 billion drams, an 80% growth compared to 2024," Hakobyan said at a press conference on Thursday.
He said that 6,124 inspections were conducted in the first 4 months of 2025, compared to 10,138 in the same period in 2024.
"Tax revenues for January-April increased by 14.5% or 120 billion drams compared to the same period last year. Tax authorities contributed 802.6 billion drams in tax revenues and state duties to the state budget (an increase of 90.5 billion drams or 12.7%), while customs revenues amounted to 146.1 billion drams (an increase of 29.5 billion drams or 25.3%)," Hakobyan said.
