Consumer prices in Armenia in January-June 2020, according to preliminary data, increased by 0.5%, compared to the same period in 2019, the National Statistical Committee of Armenia reports.

YEREVAN, July 27. /ARKA/. Consumer prices in Armenia in January-June 2020, according to preliminary data, increased by 0.5%, compared to the same period in 2019, the National Statistical Committee of Armenia reports.
In June 2020, consumer prices in the country shed 1.4%, compared to May 2020, but climbed by 1.7%, compared to June 2019.
According to the statistical report, the price index for industrial goods in January-June 2020 rose 0.7%, compared to the same period in 2019. In June 2020, compared to May 2020, prices for manufactured goods increased by 0.5%, and compared with June 2019 - by 2.6%.
The country’s electricity output grew 4.4% in January-June 2020 to 3 802.1 million kWh. This indicator in June, compared to May, went 3.4% down, and in June 2020 to June 2019 - 13.7% down.
According to the National Statistical Committee, GDP growth in Armenia in the first quarter of 2020 was recorded at 3.8%, compared to the same period in 2019, reaching AMD 1 trillion 241 billion in absolute figures.
On April 29, the National Assembly of Armenia approved the revision of budgetary indicators because of the spread of COVID-19. Taking into account the unfavorable impact of the coronavirus, the budget forecast for GDP was lowered to a decline of 2% from the 4.9% growth projected earlier for the current year, and the deficit was increased to AMD 340 billion or 5% of GDP from the previous 2.3%. –0--
