Water-supplying companies in Armenia invested AMD 25 billion in 2010 in construction of infrastructures, Andranik Andreasyan, chairman of Armenia’s state water committee, said on Tuesday.
YEREVAN, January 25. /ARKA/. Water-supplying companies in Armenia invested AMD 25 billion in 2010 in construction of infrastructures, Andranik Andreasyan, chairman of Armenia’s state water committee, said on Tuesday.
“About 700 kilometers of water pipelines were laid and some pumping stations were constructed,” he said.
Andreasyan said that water companies established an effective cooperation with all the international donor organizations, such as World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, German KfW Bank and Asian Development Bank.
In particular, Armenian Water Company is implementing an AMD 6-billion program in cooperation with Asian Development Bank, a 2.8-billion program with EBRD and 2.6-billion with World Bank.
The following five water companies operate in Armenia: Yerevan Jur, Armenian Water and Sewerage Company, Lori Water Company, Shirak Water Company and Nor Akunk. ($1=AMD 366.51). -0—
