YEREVAN, December 17. /ARKA/. Armenia harvested 240,900 tons of grapes this year – a little less than in 2012, when the country had 241,400 tons, Deputy Agriculture Minister Samvel Galstyan said at a news conference on Tuesday.

He explained this decline by spring hailstorms in some provinces, especially in Armavir.

In May, hailstorms affected crops in Shirak, Aragatsotn, Lori, Kotayk and Syunik provinces and inflicted damage amounting to AMD 25.3 billion.

Galstyan said that some growth in other provinces made the total decline not so visible. --0---
