Government abolishes mandatory inspection of agricultural machinery

The government of Armenia decided today to invalidate its previous decision of 2006 January that obliged owners of agricultural machinery to have their tractors and other equipment inspected once a year.
YEREVAN, February 24, /ARKA/. The government of Armenia decided today to invalidate its previous decision of 2006 January that obliged owners of agricultural machinery to have their tractors and other equipment inspected once a year.

In comments on the decision prime minister Tigran Sarkisian said it would be welcomed by farmers. He said a study revealed that in fact no inspections were conducted to examine the technical state of machinery and the amount of collected payments for that service was only 17 million Drams. He said the procedure irritated farmers. He also instructed relevant government agencies to draft a special law to send it to parliament. ($1 – 364,58 драма).--0--
