Armenia expects to receive a $29 million fresh aid from the U.S. government-administered Millennium Challenge Corporation between July and September 2011.
YEREVAN, June 15. / ARKA /. Armenia expects to receive a $29 million fresh aid from the U.S. government-administered Millennium Challenge Corporation between July and September 2011, the press service of the government said Tuesday following a meeting of the board of the Millennium Challenge Account – Armenia.
According to a press release, $28.2 million of this amount will channeled into implementation of a sub-program of Irrigated Agriculture program and the rest will be spent to ensure the costs of monitoring, evaluation and program management.
The government said this is the last but one application submitted by Armenia to the Millennium Challenges Corporation. The last, 21st application will be submitted in September and it will include the cost of the process of completing the program. The total amount to be made available to Armenia within the Millennium Challenge Account-Armenia program will be $176.5 million. -0-
