Growth of economic activity in Armenia in July was 7% - Statistics
YEREVAN, August 31. /ARKA/. In Armenia in July 2011 increase of economic activity by 7% compared to the same period in 2010 was registered, Armenian National Statistic Service informed “ARKA”. In July compared to June of this year this indicator was 13%.
Growth of this indicator in January –July 2011 compared to the same period of 2010 was 5%.
According to statistics, during the reporting period the construction industry recorded decline of 32.2%. Volume of construction works in July was more than 35 billion drams reduced by 10.3% compared to June.
Industrial growth of 10.2% in July 2011 compared to the same period of 2010 provided the volume of industrial production – more than 78 billion drams reduced by 6.7%.
In July the volume of agriculture increased by 32.4% compared to June 201 making about 97 billion drams. This indicator increased by 66.2% in July compared to June.
During the reporting period compared to the same period in 2010 growth of foreign trade turnover by 3.5% was recorded making 149.9 billion drams ($408 million). This figure fell to 7.5% compared to June.
Also in July the volume of rendered services increased by 5.3% compared to the same period of 2010 making about 78.5 billion drams. This indicator increased by 7.7% compared to the last month.
According to the state budget, GDP growth in Armenia in 2011 is planned on the level of 4.6%. ($1-367.93 drams). -0-
