YEREVAN, November 10. / ARKA /. The number of real estate transactions in Armenia in September of this year decreased by 2.3% from a year before to about 15,300, according to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, which said that the greatest number of real estate transactions during the reporting period – 33.9%- were registered in Yerevan and the lowest in Vayots Dzor region - 1.8%.

The central Kotayk region accounted for 12.6% of the total number of transactions, the northern region of Lori for 8.7%, Gegharkunik for 8.1%, Armavir for 7.1%, and Shirak for 7.6% of all real estate transactions.

Some 6.1% of all transactions were reported by Aragatsotn region, 5.7% by Ararat; Syunik and Tavush accounted for 5.2% and 3.2% of all transactions respectively. According to the official numbers, 28.8% of transactions were sale and purchase of housing and 17% were transactions for initial registration of housing. Some 12.8% were inheritance transactions, 13.2% mortgage deals and 3.8% were real estate renting. -0-
