The company “BIGA” plans to make new investments in Armenia in the amount of 1 million euro

YEREVAN, November 17. /ARKA/. Armenian-Dutch joint company “BIGA” producing and exporting mushrooms has successfully implemented in Armenia an investment program in the amount of 1 million euro and plans to make investments of another 1 million euro, said Armenian economy Minister Tigran Davtyan.

Government of Armenia adopted on Thursday a decision to postpone VAT payments of “BIGA” on goods worth over 300 million drams for three years until November 15, 2014 defined by customs services.

“These funds will be used for importing additional equipment to increase the production volumes”, said Davtyan in the government meeting on Thursday.

In this regard he explained that in the first program the production was sold not only in Armenia but exported to Arab countries.

The company has established in Ararat region of Armenia production of champignons, created 24 new job places and produces about 1 tons of mushrooms daily.

This decision will allow to expand the production, establish a new production unit with additional 15 job places.

Government of Armenia has also made amendments in its earlier decision on postponing VAT payments for “ECOTOMATO” cjsc for the provision of import of planting stocks of roses within the given privileged regime.

The given investment program on the establishment of greenhouses for rose cultivation is implemented in the village Goght of Kotayk region of Armenia. Within this program it is planned to create 27 new job places.

According to the reviewed law as of April 2009 “On value added tax” initiated by the Government of Armenia, VAT payment for the companies importing goods, new technologies or equipment to Armenia exceeding 300 million drams, or investment portfolio of which exceeds the mentioned amount, are postponed.
