Volume of transactions on securities reduces on Armex in November

YEREVAN, December 4. /ARKA/. Reduction in the volume of transactions on securities has been recorded on the Armenian Stock Exchange (Armex) in November. The total volume of transactions on securities was 146.7mln Drams on Armex in November against 154.8mln in October.

The volume of transactions on shares totaled 48.98mln Drams or 33.4% of the overall volume. The volume of transactions on corporate bonds was 97.74mln Drams or 66.6%. According to the analysis made by ARKA agency based on the information of Armex, the quantity of securities in stock exchange transactions totaled 55,265 in the period against 39,451 in October. The number of bonds was 2,342 and the number of shares was 52,923.

In the commercial sessions in November transactions were effected on shares and corporate bonds of six companies no change against October.

’’Valleta’’ Co. Ltd. has been the leader in the volume of transactions on Armex on corporate bonds in the period; ‘’Armenian Development Bank’’ provided the highest volume of transactions on shares.

The total volume of transactions on corporate bonds of ‘’Valletta’’ was 31mln Drams, which is 63.3% of the overall volume of similar transactions on Armex in November. The total volume of transactions on shares of ‘’Armenian Development Bank’’ was 87.7mln Drams or 89.8% of the overall volume of transactions on shares.

Armenian Stock Exchange (Armex) is a self-regulating organization registered in Armenia on February 13 2001. Transactions on corporate shares have been effected on Armex since July 6 2001.
On November 9 Armex was reorganized to an open joint stock company. On November 21 the Government of Armenia and OMX signed an agreement on purchase of 100% of shares of Armex and the Central Depository by OMX.

As of December 4 35 securities were registered and underwent listing on Armex; the capitalization of Armex totaled 31.7bln Drams. ($1=306.50Drams). –0—
