Brandy production in Armenia in the first nine months of 2012 surged by 30. 4 percent year-on-year to 12.238 million liters, according to the latest numbers released by the National Statistical Service.

It said also that wine production contracted by 27.5% to 3 million liters. Production of vodka and liquors in January-September jumped by 43.2 percent from a year earlier to 4.890 million liters. Production of sparkling wines was said to have slashed by 40.4 percent to 125,800 liters. Production of beer saw a 13 percent drop to 12.6 million liters and production of non-alcoholic beverages rose to 29.7 million liters, a 6.2% rise from a year before. -0-
