Armenia produced 5,301.3 million kWh of electricity in the first seven months of 2024, marking a 2.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to the National Statistical Committee.

YEREVAN, September 6. /ARKA/. Armenia produced 5,301.3 million kWh of electricity in the first seven months of 2024, marking a 2.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to the National Statistical Committee.

Thermal power plants (TPPs) accounted for the largest share of electricity generation, producing 2,069.3 million kWh, which represented 39% of the total output, though this was a 9.6% decrease from last year. The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant contributed 26.4% of the total, generating 1,397.7 million kWh, an increase of 6.1%. Hydroelectric power stations (HPPs) generated 1,251.0 million kWh, up 13.5%, representing 23.6% of the total output.

Solar power stations saw the highest growth, with a 29.8% increase, producing 582.5 million kWh and accounting for 11% of the total. Wind power, however, saw a decline of 39.2%, generating just 0.8 million kWh, representing 0.02% of the total.

Since 2023, electricity generated by autonomous producers has been included in the overall production figures, reflecting changes in the national energy landscape.
