Armenia's foreign trade grew by 62.5% over 9 months, exceeding $9.3 billion

YEREVAN, November 8. /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign trade in January-September 2022 surged by 62.5% from the same time span of 2021 to$ 9,306, 615,900, according to the numbers, released by National Statistical Committee (NSC).
It said in September 2022 alone the foreign trade doubled from the year before to $1,473,800,000.
Armenia's foreign trade with former Soviet republics, which make the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) amounted to $3,478,428,600, an increase of 75.4% compared to the same period last year. The largest foreign trade partners were Russia ($3,207, 926,600, 80.5% increase against 9 months of 2021), Belarus ($129,703,000, 2.4 times increase) and Ukraine ($61, 993,400, 44.5% decrease).
Armenia's foreign trade with EU countries amounted to $1,580, 213,100, a 38.4% growth yoy. The top five largest trade partners were Germany ($330,953,500, up 61.9%), Italy ($236, 245,300, up 13.4%), Bulgaria ($203,300,900, up 4.3%), the Netherlands ($198, 676,200, up 33.2%) and Belgium ($102,973,800, up 46.3%).
Armenia's trade with China amounted to $1,209,232,900, up 42.5%. The trade with Iran grew by 45.2% to $495,982,900; the trade with UAE grew 3.7 times to $317,872,300, and the trade with USA more than doubled to $282,304,100.
Armenian exports grew by 63.8% to $3,509,421,200. In 2022, September alone Armenian exports grew 2.5 from the year before to $581,600,000. Exports to the CIS countries totaled $1,498,173, 000, having increased 2.3 times compared to the same period last year. Exports to Russia grew 2.4 times to $1,404,681,700; exports to Belarus tripled to $49,253,700 and exports to Turkmenistan grew by 4.2 times to $11,392,900.
Exports to EU countries rose by 23.9% compared to January-September 2021 to $606,568,300. Exports to Bulgaria grew by 6.7% to $187,309,000; exports to the Netherlands grew by 34% to $163,477,700 and to Germany by 39.7% to $80,952,000.
Exports to the UAE grew by 4.7 times to $278,972,300; exports to China fell 10.8% to $269,005,300; exports to Switzerland dropped by 16.8% to $194,690,000) and exports to Iraq grew by almost 50% to $168,646,200.
According to statistical data, the bulk of Armenian exports were mining industry products, which grew by 4.2% to $785,398,500, finished food industry products - about $605,400,700 –up 44.7%, precious and semi-precious stones, precious metals and products - $597,341,000, up 2.7 times.
Imports to Armenia in January-September 2022 totaled $5,797,194,700, an increase of 61.6% over the same period in 2021. In September 2022 alone, imports more than doubled from September 2021 to $892.2 million.
Imports from Russia grew by 45% to $1,947,145,700; from Belarus by 2.1 times to $86,939,600, while imports from Ukraine fell by 41.6% to $56,280,800.
Imports from the EU countries rose by 60.9% to $1,149, 525,100. Imports from Germany grew by 84.5% to $284, 063,800; from Italy y 16.6% to $167,269,500 and from the Netherlands by 37.8% to $82, 680,800.
Import from China grew by 47.1% to $495,635,400; from Georgia by 96.9% to $463,807,500 and imports from Iran by 38% to $411,767,600.
The bulk of imports were machinery, equipment and mechanisms - $1,109,076,200 - up 84.9%, mining product- - $858,430,100 -up 32.7%, land, air and water vehicles - $511,170,400 - up 2.7 times), non-precious metals and articles - $440,065,900 - up 49.5%), chemical products - $427,440,400 -up 38% and finished food products - $371,429,900 - up 26.6% -0-
