Armenia’s industrial output grows by 8.8 percent in five months to 533.5 billion drams

Armenia’s industrial output in the first five months of 2016 amounted to about 533.5 billion drams, an increase of 8.8% when compared to the same period of 015, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).
YEREVAN, July 1. /ARKA/. Armenia’s industrial output in the first five months of 2016 amounted to about 533.5 billion drams, an increase of 8.8% when compared to the same period of 015, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).
The growth was driven largely by an almost 20% increase in the mining industry, which grew to 98.7 billion drams. Particularly, mining of metal ores increased by 19.7%. During the reporting period, the manufacturing industry saw a 3.8% growth, amounting to about 311 billion drams.
Also supply of electricity, natural gas, steam and conditioned air recorded a growth of 13.7% to 115 billion drams. Water supply, cleaning, waste treatment and obtaining of secondary raw materials rose by 9.3% to 8.8 billion drams. ($ 1 - 476.68 drams). -0-
