YEREVAN, March 22. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said on Thursday government session laboratories should test all the imported to Armenia vaccines and medicaments for veterinary use.
“The peasants from Armavir region, expressed to me dissatisfaction with the drugs’ efficacy. How do we actually control the imported vaccines?” Sargsyan asked Armenia’s Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan.
Karapetyan, in turn, clarified that the peasants presented the issue inaccurately as he hadn’t received any complaints over the past two years, moreover, no epidemic was reported in the republic.
“We purchase the vaccines from the organizations that have European certificates,” he added.
Karapetyan also said that there is no appropriate laboratory in Armenia to test the imported vaccines and medicaments for veterinary use. Thus, it is necessary either to open such laboratory in Armenia or send the drugs samples to Europe which is a very expensive procedure.
The laboratory will require much funding as well, that is why the vaccines are bought from the European companies, which have an appropriate license, he added.Nevertheless, PM underscored the importance to test these medicaments at least 1-2 times per year. —0—
