Armenia to receive 12 million euros from EBRD for construction of customs and logistics center in Syunik

The Armenian government on Wednesday approved a proposal to sign an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)  to finance the construction of a customs and logistics center in the southern province of Syunik. According to the agreement, Armenia will receive a EUR 10 million loan and a EUR 2 million grant from the Eurobank.

YEREVAN, May 8. /ARKA/. The Armenian government on Wednesday approved a proposal to sign an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)  to finance the construction of a customs and logistics center in the southern province of Syunik.

According to the agreement, Armenia will receive a EUR 10 million loan and a EUR 2 million grant from the Eurobank.

The project calls for the construction of a customs and logistics center near the village of Shaki, 7 kilometers from Sisian, on a 7.7 hectare territory adjacent to the North-South interstate highway, as well as the provision of consulting services and technical support.

The EBRD is one of the leading institutional investors in Armenia. Among its  main priorities are increasing the competitiveness of companies and supporting financial sector intermediation through risk-sharing products.
During its operation in Armenia, the EBRD has invested €2.5 billion through 210 projects in areas such as energy, infrastructure, telecommunications and finance.-0-
