Armenian exports surge by 20 percent in five months

Armenia’s foreign trade in the first five months of 2016 grew by 6.8% from the same time of 2015 to about $1.892.7 billion, according to the latest numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS).
YEREVAN, June 20. /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign trade in the first five months of 2016 grew by 6.8% from the same time of 2015 to about $1.892.7 billion, according to the latest numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS).
According to NSS, exports in the reporting period of time surged by 20.1% year-on-year to $656.9 million, while imports grew by 0.9% only to about $.1.235.8 billion.
As a result, the negative foreign trade balance in January-May of the current year amounted to $578.9 million ($ 1 - 477.06 drams). -0-
