Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan assessed highly the cooperation between the government of Armenia and the World Bank during the discussion of a World Bank designed report today, the press service of the Armenian government said to ARKA.

YEREVAN, December 4. / ARKA /. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan assessed highly the cooperation between the government of Armenia and the World Bank during the discussion of a World Bank designed report today, the press service of the Armenian government said to ARKA.

It said the meeting was attended by World Bank Country Director for the South Caucasus Henry Kerala, head of WB Yerevan Office Jean-Michel Happi, IMF resident representative Guillermo Tolosa, and head of the regional office of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for the South Caucasus Thomas Lubeck.

"The World Bank has done a voluminous work. We have studied the report and are ready to discuss it; Tigran Sargsyan was quoted as saying.

World Bank Country Director Henry Kerala was quoted as saying that the analysis of the proposed policy outlines the main challenges of Armenia’s development, including introduction of a new management model, formation of a new economic growth track and structural reforms aimed at performance improvement.

The head of the World Bank Yerevan Office, Jean-Michel Happi said the document reflects a wide range of issues concerning the welfare of the population, governance reforms and poverty reduction.

During the discussion of the report Armenian finance minister Vache Gabrielyan presented the priorities of the government’s development strategy. -0-
