Food products in Armenia increased in price by 5.4% in March 2025
YEREVAN, April 3. /ARKA/. Prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages in March 2025 compared to March 2024 increased by 5.4%, and compared to February 2025 - by 0.6%, the National Statistical Committee of Armenia reports.
Bakery products and cereals increased in price by 1.7% in March compared to March 2024 and by 0.1% compared to February 2025.
Pasta increased in price by 0.8% in March (an increase of 0.4% over the month), bread by 2.2% (an increase of 0.1%), flour by 4% (an increase of 0.6%), rice by 2.3% (a decrease of 0.6%), and lobi by 3.5% (a decrease of 0.9%).
Meat increased in price in March compared to the same period last year by 0.2%, and compared to February 2025, it fell in price by 0.3%. At the same time, poultry meat in March fell in price by 2.3% year-on-year (a decrease of 0.7% over the month), beef by 0.9% (a decrease of 0.2%), pork by 0.5% (a decrease of 0.8%). Fish and seafood prices in March 2025 increased by 19.7% compared to March 2024, and by 3.4% compared to February of the same year. At the same time, trout increased in price by 21.5% over the reporting period, and by 3.7% over the month.
Cheese in March fell in price by 5.4% over the year (a decrease of 0.2% over the month), fresh milk - by 1.3% (a decrease of 0.4%), cottage cheese - by 0.4% (a decrease of 0.4%), eggs - by 2.5% (a decrease of 1.9%).
Butter increased in price by 13.2% (a decrease of 0.1% over the month), and sunflower vegetable oil increased in price by 15.4% (a decrease of 0.6% over the month).
Fruits in March rose in price by 11.3% year-on-year and by 4.9% month-on-month. In the vegetable group, prices in March rose by 21% year-on-year and by 1.7% month-on-month.
Sugar in March 2025 compared to March 2024 fell in price by 5.1%, and by 0.2% month-on-month; chocolate in March compared to March 2024 rose in price by 11.8% (an increase of 2.3% month-on-month).
Tea in March 2025 rose in price by 6.1% year-on-year (a decrease of 0.7% month-on-month), cocoa by 16% (an increase of 6.8%), and coffee by 17.5% (an increase of 1%). Prices for mineral or spring water, as well as bottled drinking water in March increased by 1% year-on-year and by 0.1% month-on-month. Alcoholic beverages in March 2025 by 5.3% compared to March 2024 by 0.4% compared to February. At the same time, vodka in March 2025 increased in price by 6.5% compared to March 2024 (by 0.3% month-on-month), wine by 2.1% (by 0.7%), beer by 1.4% (by 0.4%).
