Frequent power outages concern Armenians: PSRC head candidate proposes solutions

Yerevan, November 15. /ARKA/. Mesrop Mesropyan, candidate for head of Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission, outlined his strategy for resolving frequent power outages and enhancing the performance of Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC.

This issue was raised during the discussion of Mesropyan's candidacy in parliament by Arpi Devoyan, a member of the ruling ‘’Civil Contract’’ party, who expressed concern over the expenses, government-backed loans, and other aspects of the operations of ‘’’Electric Networks’’ of Armenia

Mesropyan stated that the head of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) should not have to demonstrate in their work that CJSC ‘’Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) is one of the country’s main adversaries.

"ENA is a specialized entity that has been operating Armenia's existing system for years, delivering certain results," Mesropyan said during a session of the National Assembly.

According to him, there are factors that rightly lead to discontent and complaints, but it is important to determine how to effectively eliminate the existing negativity in a short time.

"I cannot provide any figures yet. The concerning aspects need to be studied. If I am elected, we will need to prioritize addressing these issues," Mesropyan emphasized.

He agreed that it was necessary to examine the details of the investment program of ‘’Electric Networks of Armenia’’.

‘’Electric Networks of Armenia’’ CJSC is part of the Tashir Group, owned by prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan. ESA manages medium and low voltage distribution networks across Armenia, serving 1 million customers. -0-
