Gazprom chief awarded Armenian Order of Friendship

Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan has awarded today the Order of Friendship to Russian Gazprom chief Alexei Miller in recognition of his contribution to the development of economic ties between Armenia and Russia, strengthening of the friendship between the two peoples, as well as for Gazprom's activity in Armenia, Sargsyan's press office said.

YEREVAN, April 16. / ARKA /. Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan has awarded today the Order of Friendship to Russian Gazprom chief Alexei Miller in recognition of his contribution to the development of economic ties between Armenia and Russia, strengthening of the friendship between the two peoples, as well as for Gazprom's activity in Armenia, Sargsyan's press office said.
Sargsyan was said to have emphasized the Armenian-Russian strategic partnership highlighting its economic component, relying heavily on gas and energy sector.
In turn, Miller said Gazprom is ready to implement all tasks it has in Armenia to help further strengthening of Armenian-Russian bilateral relations. Miller also spoke about the current activities of Gazprom and its future programs, in which social programs have a special importance.
The sides also discussed the current level and prospects of development of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
In December 2013, Gazprom signed a contract with Gazprom Armenia on natural gas supplies in 2014-2018. According to it, Gazprom will deliver up to 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas every year. The gas price will be determined by a formula linked to the Russian gas pricing scheme. -0-
