YEREVAN, March 7. /ARKA/. The Armenian government decided today to extend the duration of a project designed to repair the M-6 highway that stretches from the third-largest city of Vanadzor to Alaverdi and further to the border with Georgia until September 2024.

The total length of M-6 highway is 91.2 km. The first section of the road that runs up to the village of Kobair is being repaired and expanded on a loan from the European Investment Bank, and the second section that runs from Kobair to Bagratashen checkpoint on the Georgian border on a loan from the Asian Development Bank.

Th extension of the project is due to earlier delays in the section funded by the Asian Development Bank.

The 44 million euro loan agreement was signed on November 9, 2016 and entered into force on April 24, 2017. The length of the sections under repair is about 52 kilometers. --0--
