Papoyan discusses food security and export issues with Russian agriculture minister
YEREVAN, November 15. /ARKA/. Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan, during a meeting with Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut on Friday, emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the area of food security, according to the Ministry of Economy's press service.
The discussions covered increasing trade turnover with Russia, ensuring food security, organizing food product exports, developing livestock breeding, procuring vaccines for farm animals, exporting alcoholic beverages, and the use of pesticides in agricultural crop cultivation.
The parties emphasized the importance of expanding existing cooperation in agriculture and expressed their readiness to take concrete steps in this direction.
According to official statistics, the trade turnover between Armenia and Russia in January-September 2024 reached $9.7 billion, a 99.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023. -0-
