Pashinyan explains why Armenia refused to host EEU Supreme Economic Council meeting
YEREVAN, 4 December. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan revealed today why Yerevan refused to host a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union's (EEU) Supreme Economic Council.
‘I personally considered it inexpedient to hold the event in Armenia. And I can tell you why. Unfortunately, for reasons known to you, and I publicly stated this also from this rostrum- not all members of the EEU Supreme Economic Council are welcome in Armenia,’ the Armenian prime minister said in parliament.
Earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that a regular session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will be held on 25 December in St. Petersburg at the request of Armenia. -0-
Armenia holds the totating chairmanship of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board since 1 January 2024.-0-
