YEREVAN, October 25. /ARKA/. Re-establishment of production chains that were formed back in the Soviet Union will enable enlivening post-soviet national economies and creating an efficient mechanism to overcome the world crisis, Editor-in-Chief of “Odnako” socio-political magazine, coordinator of Confederation of social forces for Eurasian integration Andrey Kobyakov.

“Our advantage compared to artificial integrative formations is that we will have to restore rather than create”, Kobyakov said at the discussion on “Customs Union, Unified Economic Area, CIS free trade zone: points of growth of national economies under world crisis conditions” in the framework of the first Yerevan business forum “Eurasian breakthrough”.

According to the expert, a new model should be proposed having in mind what role former Soviet Union countries want to play in the future geopolitical spectrum. Soviet countries had always wanted to ensure a quasi-autarchy, a closed reproduction circle that allows ignoring the world market, Kobyakov said.

“It storming somewhere in the world, but we have a sunshine. It is the only way. Otherwise we are turning into a deep periphery of other economic worlds. Our joint market may be about 250mln people, which is a minimum for forming an economic world”, he said.
Kobyakov pointed out that other countries that have no experience of Eurasian integration processes, may join the process. Twenty five countries have already expressed wish to be observers in the Eurasian Union.

No doubt, the world economy stepped into depression; impact from other countries gives a chance to somehow mask the processes, yet it does not change things, Kobyakov said. “The fact is that since the beginning of the crisis, an absolutely shocking amount was injected into the economy of the USA, European Union and other countries. And, naturally, inflation processes will follow”, he said.
According to the economist, the current second wave of the world crisis will be followed by a third one that will end not earlier than in 2020.

The first Yerevan business forum “Eurasian Breakthrough” is held in the framework of the fifth EXPO-RUSSIA ARMENIA 2012 Russian-Armenian industrial exhibition on October 24-25. The forum is organized by Eurasian Cooperation Development Fund, “Zarubezh-Expo” OJSC, Multi-Group concern, supported by the Confederation of Social Forces for Eurasian integration

The aim of the forum is to establish ties and strengthen contacts between statesmen, economists, businessmen and journalists of CIS countries, Baltic countries and Georgia that support the idea of Eurasian Economic Union. –0-
