Rice may become strategic commodity in Armenia to replace wheat - Security Council Secretary
YEREVAN, October 14. /ARKA/. Rice may become a strategic commodity in Armenia instead of wheat, said Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan at the conference “Crossroads of Peace: Uniting Security and Democracy” in Yerevan.
According to him, when thinking about the country's security, it is necessary to take into account not only the defense aspect, but also goods of strategic importance.
"It should be assessed from the point of view of people's needs. Thus, strategic goods can be replaced, which will allow the economy to become more flexible and not allow others to target our strategic goods. For example, we can switch from wheat to rice as a strategic good and change our adaptability," Grigoryan said.
The main supplier of wheat to Armenia is Russia. -0-
