Russia and Armenia have actually reached parity in terms of bilateral trade

YEREVAN, December 15. /ARKA/. Russia is Armenia's leading trade partner; in terms of bilateral trade, the countries have now managed to reach parity, Russian Deputy Prime Minister and co-chairman of the Russian-Armenian economic cooperation commission Alexei Overchuk said on Friday.
"The trade turnover between Russia and Armenia in the first nine months of 2023 surged by 43.5% year-on-year to $4.4 billion," Overchuk said at a meeting of the commission in Yerevan.
According to him, the bulk of settlements in bilateral trade is made in Russian rubles.
According to Overchuk, Armenia and Russia continue to be allies. "And the high dynamics of our allied interaction is conditioned by the intensive and reliable dialog at the highest level," he said.
According to the Armenian National Statistical Committee, the Armenian-Russian trade in January-September 2023 amounted to over $4.78 billion (47.7% growth compared to the first nine months of 2022).
Exports from Armenia to the Russian Federation reached $2.645 billion (85% growth), while imports to Armenia to over $2.25 billion (15.4% growth). -0-
