An equivalent of 289.6 billion drams arrived in Armenia as foreign investments in the first quarter of this year, (not counting investments obtained by the government and the banking sector), according to the latest numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS).

YEREVAN, June 3. / ARKA /. An equivalent of 289.6 billion drams arrived in Armenia as foreign investments in the first quarter of this year, (not counting investments obtained by the government and the banking sector), according to the latest numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS). Net foreign investment amounted to about 59.3 billion drams.
Foreign direct investment (FDI) stood at about 201.9 billion drams. Net FDI were worth 69.6 billion drams.
According to the National Statistical Service, the largest amount of foreign investments came from Russia -184.5 billion drams. Of that amount 176.4 billion drams were direct investments. Russia was followed by Cyprus and Germany, which invested 27.2 billion drams and 26 billion drams respectively.
According to the NSS, about 61 % or 176.6 billion drams of total foreign investment were channeled into electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sectors. Also about 45 billion drams were channeled into the mining sector. ($ 1 - 413.49 drams). - 0
