YEREVAN, June 29, /ARKA/. President Serzh Sargsyan traveled today to Armavir, the administrative center of the same name province, to inaugurate a renovated medical center. The president was accompanied by health minister Harutyun Kushkian who told reporters that the renovation cost $2.4 million financed by the government and World Bank.

The minister said the center is furnished with modern equipment and in this sense it can compete not only with peer centers in Yerevan but also in developed countries. He said the renovation is part of a government program for proportional development of regions beyond Yerevan.

The new center offers medical services that until lately were available only in Yerevan clinics. It has also direct communication lines with Erebuni , St. George and other leading medical centers in Yerevan. Due to it Armavir doctors can get 24-hour consultations from colleagues in the capital city. -0-
