More than quarter of complaints addressed to president satisfied

Chief of the presidential Oversight Service Hovhaness Hovsepian said last Friday it has received about 10,000 requests and complaints as of December 1, 2010, addressed to president Serzh Sargsyan.
YEREVAN, December 27, /ARKA/. Chief of the presidential Oversight Service Hovhaness Hovsepian said last Friday it has received about 10,000 requests and complaints as of December 1, 2010, addressed to president Serzh Sargsyan.

Speaking at a news conference he said their number is supposed to grow by another one thousand before the end of the year. He said in 2007 the Oversight Service received 7,000 complaints and requests, 13,000 in 2008 and 15,000 in 2009.

He said positive solutions were fund to about 28% of requests and complaints received this year.

Overall, he said, about 19% of complainers can not provide documents or evidence to ground their complaints.

According to Hovhaness Hovsepian, 24% of complaints are requests for financial assistance. Their authors request money for medical treatment abroad, purchase of apartments or cars. Twenty-four percent are letters related to civic-legal relations, another 11% are requests to provide them with housing, 5.7% of applicants demand back their depreciated
Soviet-ear bank savings and 7.7% are related to health, education and science sectors.

He said a substantial portion of complaints – 41%- came from residents of Yerevan, 21% from the province of Shirak, 7% from Lori, 4.9% from Armavir and 3.7% from other countries. He said also the Oversight Service tried to find system solutions to existing government-related problems to prevent the emergence of new such problems in future. -0-
