Expansion of Armenian-Egyptian cooperation important, Armenian president states
YEREVAN, September 18. /ARKA/. Armenia attaches importance to the expansion of cooperation with Egypt, RA President Robert Kocharyan stated, while receiving the credentials from the newly appointed Egyptian Ambassador to Armenia Vahid el Dina Ismail Galal.
President Kocharyan congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment, expressing his satisfaction with the dynamic development of the bilateral relations. He pointed out that Armenia attaches importance to the expansion of cooperation with this leading Arab state.
Reminding the Egyptian Ambassador of his official visit to Egypt this April, President Kocharyan pointed out that he was impressed by the country’s historical and cultural heritage.
The Armenian President expressed the confidence that the agreements reached during his visit will be realized as soon as possible, which will be done due to the new Ambassador’s efforts as well.
Ambassador Galal said that he has experience in cooperating with Armenia, as, before being appointed Ambassador to Armenia, he was Head of the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). He pointed out that numerous Armenian officials have been retrained in Egypt due to the Fund.
The sides also discussed prospects for developing bilateral cooperation, pointing out the importance of expanding cooperation in such fields as culture, information technologies, tourism, as well as of establishing close contacts between the two countries’ private sectors.–0--
