Abrahamyan: Armenia-Karabakh-Diaspora trinity is the only formula for success

YEREVAN, September 19. /ARKA/. Armenia-Karabakh-Diaspora trinity is the only formula for success, Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said Friday in Yerevan at the fifth ‘Armenia-Diaspora’ All-Armenian Forum. 

“Armenia’s contemporary history shows that we will answer the inside and outside challenges that Armenians worldwide face only by joint efforts,” he said. 

The premier cited Garegin Nzhde, one of Armenian prominent statesmen of the 20th century, as saying: 

“Our people without patriotism are like human body without soul”.  

Abrahamyan stressed that it will be possible to become stronger and to solve national problems only by joint efforts.  

“Armenia’s people backed by the Diaspora feel stronger, and I am convinced that you too consider the Republic of Armenia as your independent and free homeland,” he said addressing representatives of Armenian communities in other countries. 

The forum was launched today and will be completed tomorrow. About 1,000 heads of Armenian communities worldwide are taking part in the event, including Armenian Apostolic Church leader Catholicos II, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I and Catholicos Partiarch of Cilicia Nerses Petros XIX. 

The forum is focused on the following issues: the 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Empire, security of Syrian Armenians and other Armenians in extraordinary situation and development of cooperation between Armenia and Armenian overseas communities.  

The seventh media forum will be held as part of the event. Some 120 chief editors and representatives of overseas Armenian communities’ media outlets will attend it. --0----
