Abrahamyan not to refuse from his mandate and enter Armenia’s National Assembly

The former Speaker of the Armenian parliament, deputy head of the Republican Party Hovik Abrahamyan said Thursday he will enter the National Assembly of the country.
YEREVAN, May 25. /ARKA/. The former Speaker of the Armenian parliament, deputy head of the Republican Party Hovik Abrahamyan said Thursday he will enter the National Assembly of the country.
He pointed out that he was not going to submit a mandate refuse application to the Central Electoral Commission the deadline for which is May 25 at 18:00. Currently, 67 RPA candidates refused from their mandates.
“The final staff decisions will be made at the party assembly that will take place till May 31 ( the new parliament session day),” he said.
Armenian mass media have recently reported on the possibility of appointing Abrahamyan as a Speaker of the National Assembly.
Hovik Abrahamyan run the office of the Parliament Speaker since September 29 of 2008 to November 14, 2011, when he officially resigned from this post.
Later he was appointed as a chief of RPA election campaign.
Abrahamyan was the second in the Republican electoral list ( traditionally the second list position belongs to a Speaker of a parliament).
The Republican Party of Armenia received the majority of votes thus currently holding 69 seats in the 131-seat parliament ( 40 under proportional, and 29 under popularity vote).—0—
