Almost 14 thousand Nagorno-Karabakh refugees accommodated in different regions of Armenia - minister

YEREVAN, September 28. /ARKA/. About 14,000 refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh have already been accommodated in different regions of Armenia, Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Minister Gnel Sanosyan said on Thursday.

He said a database has been created to enter information about how many refugees have settled in each region, as well as what needs they have.

'This is important, as we have to meet the needs of people," the minister noted.

According to Sanosyan, the displaced persons are already being registered in Armenia's regional centers and communities.

"The data is transferred to the Migration Service for developing targeted support programs," the minister said.

As many as 70,500 forcibly displaced persons have arrived in Armenia from Nagorno-Karabakh, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, spokeswoman for the Prime Minister said today.

After the large-scale aggression of the Azerbaijani armed forces on September 19, Nagorno-Karabakh authorities accepted the proposal of the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent for a ceasefire a day later.

Fearing persecutions Nagorno-Karabakh residents are forced to leave their homes and move to Armenia. -0-
