Ara Babloyan has no intention to race for seat in National Assembly

Ara Babloyan, speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, told journalists on Wednesday that he will not race for a seat in the parliament.

YEREVAN, November 7. /ARKA/. Ara Babloyan, speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, told journalists on Wednesday that he will not race for a seat in the parliament.
«I am 71,» he said. «I worked long and I think it is necessary to give way for a younger generation.»
Babloyan said he intends to return to the healthcare area.
Along with that, he said that the Republican party of Armenia should run in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections.
In his opinion, the party has a serious human and professional potential, which should be used.
In his words, no change of the party leader [Serzh Sargsyan] is being considered now.
He said the party still has some educated and positive persons.
Babloyan said he joined the Armenian Republicans in 2012 for they declared a struggle against monopolies and corruption.
He said that he has joined the party after he has obtained a seat in the National Assembly and that he did that not to take up a post. -0---
