Armenia-Azerbaijan peace talks not suspended, the pause linked to COP29 - Simonyan
YEREVAN, 4 December. /ARKA/. Peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan are not suspended, a pause was taken because of the COP29 climate summit in Baku, Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan said.
‘A pause was taken at some point due to COP29. We were informed about it by the Azerbaijani side ... But we are in a positive trend of proposals and discussions. There is a positive dynamics,' Simonyan said at a press briefing today.
When asked about the fate of Armenian prisoners held in Baku, he said that this issue is always raised and there were no discussions within the framework of which this issue was not touched upon.
‘I consider it wrong to just talk about it. Firstly, it would be wrong to form expectations, because these people have families, relatives, and there are things. which do not depend on us,’ he said.-0-
