YEREVAN, September 29. /ARKA/. In a statement issued today Armenia's Foreign Ministry revealed another Azerbaijani disinformation, aimed at preparing grounds for military operations in the direction of the Vardenis region of the Republic of Armenia.
Minutes after this disinformation the Azerbaijani armed forces attacked the civilian-military infrastructure in the Vardenis region, including targeting the civilian population, as a result of which one civilian was killed, spokeswoman for the ministry Anna Naghdalyan said in a Facebook post.
She said in contempt of the continuing calls of the international community to end the hostilities, Azerbaijan, with the active encouragement, political and military support of Turkey, is expanding the geography of hostilities to the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
The Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh will give adequate military-political response to Azerbaijan’s consistent attempts to undermine regional security and peace, she said.
According to Armenian sources, more than 700 Azerbaijani troops have been killed since the start of the massive offensive against Nagorno-Karabakh on September 27 morning. Armenian troops destroyed also about 80 armored vehicles, 6 helicopters, and more than 45 UAVs.
According to the same sources, 83 Armenian servicemen were killed, about 100-120 people were wounded in the fierce battles. Martial law and mobilization were declared in Artsakh and Armenia. -0-
