Armenia and Cyprus discuss new opportunities for defense cooperation

YEREVAN, December 12. /ARKA/. Armenian and Cypriot Defense Ministers Suren Papikyan and Michalis Yorgallas discussed today a number of issues pertaining to cooperation in the defense sphere in Nicosia, the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.
It said the ministers summed up the results of the current stage of cooperation and outlined new prospects for its development, expressing readiness to cooperate on a wider agenda, including training programs and exchange of experience in various fields.
Papikyan also presented to his Cypriot counterpart the Crossroads of Peace project developed by Armenian government to reopen regional transport communications.
At the end of the meeting, the defense ministers of the two countries made a joint press statement, reaffirming their readiness to cooperate on a rich agenda. -0--
