YEREVAN, March 25. /ARKA/. Armenia assumes its share of responsibility for peace and stability in the region, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today at a joint press briefing with visiting Georgian PM Irakli Kobakhidze.

"During our meeting, I presented our perceptions regarding regional processes, as well as the development and current situation on the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. I reaffirmed that Armenia assumes its share of responsibility for peace and stability in the region. We expect other actors to demonstrate a similar approach," Pashinyan said.

He said Armenia is ready to move forward in the process of normalizing relations with Azerbaijan on the basis of agreed principles.

"We see that Georgia is not only interested in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but also tries to promote this process with practical steps," the prime minister said.

For his part, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that during the meeting he emphasized the importance of steps to overcome the challenges facing the region.

"Georgia supports efforts to achieve peace and stability in the South Caucasus. We hope that a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be signed and Georgia is ready to positively contribute to this process," he said. -0-
