YEREVAN, November 15. /ARKA/. Armenia as handed over the chairmanship in the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers to Austria Thursday, the press office of Armenian foreign ministry reported.

At the CE Ministerial Committee meeting Thursday Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandyan congratulated Austria’s vice-chancellor and minister of European and international affairs Michael Spindelegger and assured him Armenia will provide support throughout Austrian chairmanship.

Armenia’s chairmanship was assessed as effective and active by heads of delegations of Austria, Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Portugal, Andorra, Slovakia, Sweden, as well as by the head of CE non-governmental organizations forum.

Armenian foreign minister made a report summarizing six-month chairmanship activities.
Throughout the period Armenia was closely cooperating with all CE statutory bodies, secretary general and secretariat, Parliamentary Assembly, European Human Rights Court, Human Rights Commissionaire, as well as with the congress of local and regional governments, Nalbandyan said.

Armenia had taken over the CE chairmanship on May 16 2013. –0—
