Armenia, Russia maintaining full interaction in political, economic, military and humanitarian areas

Armenia and Russia are maintaining full interaction in political, economic, military and technical as well as humanitarian areas, Serzh Sargsyan, Armenia’s president, said Thursday as met his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
YEREVAN, March 11. /ARKA/. Armenia and Russia are maintaining full interaction in political, economic, military and technical as well as humanitarian areas, Serzh Sargsyan, Armenia’s president, said Thursday as met his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
He is quoted on the Kremlin’s website as saying that relations between the two countries are developing successfully.
Sargsyan thanked Putin for implementation of the arrangements made at their previous meetings.
He stressed that Armenia, as chair of the Collective Security Treaty Organization pays great attention to implementation of the decisions made at CSTO sessions in September and December.
“We are concerned over things on regions adjacent to CSTO zone, and I state loudly again, as I did it at December session and my other speeches, that we remain steadfast in supporting Russia’s stance on Syria problem and we welcome the ceasefire accord you have reached with the United States. This can become a key to political solution of this problem,” Sargsyan said.
He remembered that a tournament of aspirants for world chess championship will be launched on Thursday. He said that the contest is sponsored by the Armenian Chess Federation and Armenia dedicates this event to the 25th anniversary of its independence.
Sargsyan also thanked the Russian president for the efforts his country is making to settle Karabakh conflict.
“We remain steadfast in our determination to settle the conflict by peaceful means,” he said. --0---
