The 2016 draft budget has earmarked a total of 92 billion drams for the legislative, executive and judicial branches, deputy finance minister Pavel Safaryan told a parliamentary discussion of the draft budget today.

YEREVAN, November 3. / ARKA /. The 2016 draft budget has earmarked a total of 92 billion drams for the legislative, executive and judicial branches, deputy finance minister Pavel Safaryan told a parliamentary discussion of the draft budget today. He said some 1.2 billion drams will be used for the maintenance of Armenian embassies abroad.

In response to the dissatisfaction of some lawmakers that about 300 million drams were used this year for the purchase of furniture and repairs, Safaryan said that repair costs were included in the 2015 budget, while the money for the furniture for the ministry of international integration and reform (established in 2015) was released from the Reserve Fund.

The deputy minister said part of the money will be spent on the purchase of four new cars and their total number will reach 1,072. He also noted that the costs can be reduced, but it is necessary to adhere to certain standards.

The draft budget approved by the government on October 1, calls for 1 trillion and 373.7 billion drams in revenues and 1 trillion and 183 billion drams in spending. The projected deficit is 197 billion drams. Some 95.4% of the revenues are to be collected as taxes and duties, and 2.6% and 2% as official grants and other income respectively.

The draft budget projects a 2.2% GDP growth, the 12-month inflation at 4% (± 1.5%) and the budget deficit at 3.5% of GDP.   ($ 1 - 472.78 drams). -0-
