The fifth convocation of Armenia’s National Assembly started its seventh session with a minute of silence to commemorate the slain Giumry family and the soldiers killed in the recent raids by Azeri troops at the border.
YEREVAN, February 2. /ARKA/. The fifth convocation of Armenia’s National Assembly started its seventh session with a minute of silence to commemorate the slain Giumry family and the soldiers killed in the recent raids by Azeri troops at the border.
The parliament will be taking measures within its competence for investigation into the Giumry crime, speaker Galust Sahakyan said.
On January 12 a local family of seven was killed near the Russian military base in Giumry, including a six-month infant that succumbed to severe wound a week later. A Russian conscript valery Permyakpv has been charged with the crime, as per article 104 of Armenia’s criminal code (murdering of two and more people).
Since early January, the situation has escalated on the line of contact between Karabakh and Azerbaijan and at Armenia-Azerbaijan border. Raid attempts and shelling of the Armenian positions, including from mortar launchers, and casualties on both sides are reported almost every day. –0--
