YEREVAN, February 13. /ARKA/. Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan signed on Thursday a decree amending the procedure on approval of the national security council members.
According to the decree, article 16 of the annex of the previous decision has been declared invalid, the presidential press office reported.
In his speech at the Republican Party of Armenia council meeting on Thursday the president said the leader of Prosperous Armenia party tycoon Gagik Tsarukian will be withdrawn from the national security council. The president also said Tsarukian, as a political actor, is an evil for the country.
Speaking last Thursday at a conference of non-ruling parties initiated by his party Tsarukyan said that "with the help of a nationwide movement gaining strength with every passing day we will force the authorities to feel responsibility for the current situation and replace the current regime in the next elections ".
Prosperous Armenia is the second largest force in the parliament controlling 36 seats. It was part of coalition governments from 2007 to 2012. Now it positions itself as an alternative political force. –0--
