Armenia sends note of protest to the Belarusian side
YEREVAN, 14 June. /ARKA/. A note of protest has been sent to the Belarusian side in connection with the remarks made by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesperson June 13, which in particular, involved interference in the internal affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Ani Badalyan said.
"The desire to have leaders who think about the future of their country can come from someone who has it himself. In the case of Belarus, this is indeed a luxury at the moment," she said in a statement.
The day before, Armenia and Belarus recalled their ambassadors for consultations. "We have never done anything bad to our friends, we do not interfere in internal affairs, we respect the Armenian people and sincerely wish them leaders who will really think about the future of the country and the well-being of the people," Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesman Anatoly Glaz said.
During his visit to Azerbaijan in May, Belarusian President Lukashenko said he not only knew about Baku's plans to take Nagorno-Karabakh by force, but also approved them during his meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev before the 2020 war.
Speaking in Parliament on Thursday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan pointed this out, also saying that he would never visit Belarus as long as Alexander Lukashenko is its president, adding that no Armenian official will either visit Belarus.-0-.
