Armenia, Serbia intend to lift visa regime

Armenia and Serbia are planning to sign an agreement to lift entry visa requirements to people who have ordinary passports, Armenia's government reports on its official website.

<div>The Armenian Cabinet ministers intend to discuss the matter tomorrow at their regular session. </div>

<div>The government says in its report that after the signing of the visa regime facilitation agreement with the European Union abolishment of visa requirements by Armenia and Serbia may become an additional impetus for development of relations between the two countries. </div>

<div>«The agreement is aimed at strengthening economic, humanitarian and cultural ties between the two countries and also at developing tourism,» the Armenian government says. </div>

<div>Taking into account the above-mentioned, the Armenian foreign ministry finds it reasonable to sign this agreement. </div>

<div>Diplomatic relations between Armenia and Serbia were established on January 14, 1993. </div>

<div>On November 11, 2013, the National Assembly of Armenia ratified the visa regime facilitation agreement signed by Armenia and the European Union. The agreement took force in one month after ratification. ----0---- </div>
